It is a a stunningly beautiful psalm, resplendent with a deep longing for God. What follows is simply an example of what it might look like to pray through Psalm 63, either in private or in public. God wants your words, and while sometimes reading the words of others is just as beneficial and sometimes all we can manage , God wants you to pray to Him. Lord God, you chose me before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in your sight. You alone are God. You created the heavens, you created the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You gave life to me, and you give life to all. I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. Teach me to look for you in all things, God, and to find your will for my life.

I am coming to seek you as earnestly as I know how. My soul is thirsty for You alone. Even my body aches to know You more deeply. This parched place through which I journey only intensifies my longings. I am not finding refreshment or satisfaction anywhere else.
